How to add contacts in the Source Elements user dashboard
The Source-Connect application is integrated with the Source Elements dashboard for contact management. Contact management happens in your browser rather than in the application itself. This means that you have access to potential Source-Connect contacts from all over the world. As mentioned in the first lesson, anyone who has their profile privacy set to Public or Logged in Users can be searched for and found in the database.
Many people use this dashboard to find new people to work with, so if you are looking for work make sure your profile information represents you well. Some users will have a Certified indicator when you add them (or when you filter by Certified users).
How to access the user dashboard
On a web browser, navigate to https://dashboard.source-elements.com and log into your account.
Privacy Settings Considerations
There is a privacy setting on your user account that you will need to review before a contact adds you or you add a contact, and that is the “Require confirmation when someone sends me a contact request” option, available in the settings menu:

- Require confirmation when someone sends me a contact request will trigger an email any time another Source Elements dashboard user sends you a contact request.
- If you have it turned off and someone sends you a contact request, the contact request will be auto-accepted.
You can also turn on the “Email when someone adds me as a contact” if you want to have the setting off. You will receive an email notification any time someone adds you to their contacts list, such as the one below:

How to add a contact
To add a new user, go to the Find a Source menu and type in the name you want to search; the search will auto-refresh to display any matching results.

You have the following filters to choose from:
- The role of the user you are looking for (voice performer, singer, musician, audio production, translator and talent representative). You will only see users if they have selected a role – which is why it is so important that you configure your own role on your profile page.
- The location of the user, by country or city. This filter is useful if you want to look for users in your same area, or any other cities. Please note that you will not be able to use state abbreviations (for example, “NC”) since at least 3 letters are required.
- The professional affiliation the user belongs to.
- The type of user you are looking for (whether they are certified or not).
If necessary, you can use more than one filter when searching for contacts. After typing the name, username or studio, you will then see a list of contacts matching your search criteria.

In order to add the user, click on the contact list row and click the “Add contact” button in the detailed profile view. Depending on their privacy settings, the request may require a confirmation from the contact .
Accepting a contact request
If you have turned on your "Email me when someone adds me as a contact" setting on your privacy settings page, you will receive an email similar to the one below

Before clicking the “Yes, add to Contacts” button, make sure that you are logged into the Source Elements dashboard. Once you are logged in, click the button - the user will automatically be added to your account.
If you forgot to log in, you will see the connection request in the notifications panel at the top of the page:

You can click the “Accept” button to add the user to your contacts list. If you go to the “My Contacts” panel, you will now be able to see them on your contacts list:

Declining a contact request
In order to decline a contact request, you will need to open the notifications panel mentioned above and click the “Decline” button.

If you want, you can also choose to ignore the email, but the contact request will still remain visible in the notifications panel.
