Error - Microphone signal cuts off when recording is enabled in Pro Tools
Source-Connect | 3.9 Pro | All Operating Systems
Description
When using an audio track in Pro Tools as the input for their microphone and then using a bus to an aux track with a plugin (or a plugin such as Source-Connect Link or Source-Nexus I/O on the audio track) to patch the microphone to Source-Connect, the microphone signal cuts off from your SEND, and therefore their RECEIVE when an RTS play command is issues from them (the "RTS Sender") when you are the "RTS Receiver".
Cause
The microphone is being passed to Source-Connect Pro through a ProTools audio track with Auto Input Monitoring instead of Input Only Monitoring. Therefore, when ProTools gos into play and not record from the RTS command, the microphone, it is dropped in favor of playback from the track.
Actions
In order to fix this issue, use input "only monitoring" if an audio track must be used as the input source for the microphone. Alternatively, do not use an audio track as the input for the microphone. Instead use an "Aux track" to "input" the microphone into ProTools. Then send the microphone from that aux track to another aux track via a bus and put any required plugin (Source-Connect Link or Source-Nexus I/O) on that aux track.
