Source-Connect Standard 3.9 immediately tries to login, becomes unresponsive
Description
When launching Source-Connect Standard 3.9, the application immediately tries to login but does not show a username or password. The application becomes unresponsive and will never login. If the application is force quit and launched again, the same behavior occurs. Reinstalling will allow Source-Connect to launch properly again.
Cause
This is a known bug in Source-Connect Standard 3.9 that can occur if a high-numbered channel is selected for either the audio input or output device. For example, if you have a 24 channel audio device, and then select channel 20 in the audio options, everything will work properly until Source-Connect is quit and relaunched and then the issue occurs. This is because of a bug in the way that Source-Connect saves the audio device preference. When a high numbered channel is selected, Source-Connect may save it as the wrong number which may be higher than the actual amount of channels the device has. Then when Source-Connect is launched, and attempts to load the preferences, it cannot because the channel it tries to load does not exist.
Actions
- Disconnect all audio devices from the computer and then try launching Source-Connect.
- Reinstall Source-Connect. This will clear the saved preferences and allow it to launch properly again.
- If using a high numbered channel from an audio device, change it back to channel 1 before quitting Source-Connect.
- Use Source-Nexus I/O or Source-Connect Link in a DAW to use a high numbered channel from an audio device.
