How to configure Source-Connect Studio/Facility to send RTS via LTC and Cubase/Nuendo to send LTC

Follow the instructions below:

  1. In Source-Connect, click the “Send” button - it will turn green. 
  2. In “TIME REFERENCE INPUT”, select “LTC” and “Source-Nexus A” as your device.
  3. Select the appropriate FPS. 
  4. In Cubase/Nuendo, go to Transport > Project Synchronization settings:
    1. Under “Sources”:
      1. Click “Activate External Sync”.
      2. In “Timecode Source”, click “Internal Timecode”.
    2. In “Destinations” > “MIDI Timecode Destinations”:
      1. Click the network driver you had created (in our case, “Network DAW MTC/MMC Send”).
        1. If you need instructions on how to create a MIDI device like this one, please read through the following article. 
      2. Check the box next to “MIDI Timecode Follows Project Time”.
    3. Under “Machine Control”:
      1. In “Machine Control Output Settings”, check “MMC Master Active”. Under “MIDI Output”, select “Network DAW MTC/MMC Send”.
  5. Add “Source-Nexus I/O” as an insert for the track where you have the LTC timecode:
  6. Connect to your connection partner.
  7. Once you are ready, go back to “Sources”, click “Start” under “Transport Start/Stop”. You will see the play button at the bottom of the screen go green.

In the example below, Cubase/Nuendo is sending timecode using “Source-Nexus A”, which is visible in the RTS tab of Source-Connect 4. User “Armel” is sending the RTS timecode: 

The talent (Amber, who is on Source-Connect Studio) is receiving the timecode:
