How to configure Source-Connect 4 to receive timecode via MTC and Cubase/Nuendo to receive MTC
This tutorial can be used in all versions of Source-Connect 4 (Source-Connect Talent, Source-Connect Studio and Source-Connect Facility).
To configure Source-Connect:
- Click the “SYNC” tab to access the Remote Transport Sync panel.

- Click “Receive” if you will be receiving timecode from your side.

- In the “Time Reference Output” dropdown, select the driver you created before ("Network DAW MTC/MMC Send"). If you need instructions on how to create a MIDI device like this one, please read through the following article.

The setup to receive timecode might look different on the different DAWs - the following setup uses Cubase/Nuendo.
On Cubase/Nuendo, go to Transport > Project Synchronization Settings and:
- In “Sources”:
- Check “Activate External Sync”.
- Set “Timecode Source” to “Internal Timecode”.
- In “Destinations”
- In “MIDI Timecode Destinations, check both “Network DAW MTC/MMC Send”.
- In “Machine Control”:
- Check “MMC Master Active”.
- Under “MIDI Input”, check “Network DAW MTC/MMC Send”.
When you connect to your connection partner, the timecode will start coming in:
