The Restore/Replace Process in Source-Connect 4
With remote recording, whether with Source-Connect or any network-based transmission, the signal is subject to various issues which may cause dropped packets and therefore ‘glitches’ in your recorded audio. Source-Connect with Restore / Replace is the only available automated method to ensure that your recordings are perfect every time with the restore and replace functionalities.
Restore/Replace is a core feature included with Source-Connect that improves the quality of recordings affected by lost network data by using the Restore functionality, or by replacing the recorded lossy audio with lossless files using the Replace functionality.
Network data loss (“packet loss”) due to network instability or bandwidth issues can result in gaps or areas of silence in your recording. These lost packets can be recovered using Source-Connect’s unique Restore feature.
In Source-Connect, you can access this feature by navigating to the “RESTORE / REPLACE” panel in the top section of the application.
