As of Source-Connect 4, SYNC no longer uses the Rewire plugin because, among other things, the plugin does not support Apple Silicon chips. Instead, Source-Connect Talent 4 relies on MTC (MIDI timecode) to both send and receive timecode (SYNC). The most common scenario for talent will be to receive timecode, which will be described in more detail below. 

Configuring your setup to receive timecode is now a three-step process: 

1. Creating a MIDI device to share SYNC (this will apply to both sending and receiving timecode) 
   1. On macOS 
   2. On Windows 
2. Configuring Source-Connect and your DAW (depending on your needs):
   1. To send timecode via MTC in Source-Connect 4 and send MTC on your DAW.
   2. To send timecode via LTC in Source-Connect 4 and send LTC on your DAW.
   3. To receive timecode via MTC in Source-Connect 4 and receive MTC in your DAW.
   4. To receive timecode via LTC in Source-Connect 4 and receive LTC on your DAW.
3. Establishing a connection with your connection partner.
